The Learning Agreement
What's a Learning Agreement?
- To be eligible for an EMA, you must have signed a Learning Agreement that must also be signed by your parent or responsible adult and by the school or college you are studying at. Parental signature is not required when studying full time within College.
- The requirement for a parental signature will be waived for students who are estranged from their families and assessed as independent for DSS benefit purposes, if the student has additional support needs that make it impractical or the student is studying full time at college.
- A new Learning Agreement should be completed for each academic year.
- The Local Authority or College may discontinue EMA payments where the information supplied by the school or college states that you have failed to comply with your Learning Agreement.
